Corrupted Files using PGP Netshare 10.2.5/10.3 w/ Office 2010

I need a solution

Hello,

We have several users who use PGP Netshare 10.2.5 with Windows 7. They currently access encrypted files on a network share and on their local desktop. We're migrating them to Windows 8.1 and Office 2010. After upgrading to Windows 8, our test case has experienced the following issues:

1. Windows 8 bluescreens randomly on first mount of the share w/ a MUP_FILE_System (Bug Check 0x103) error. We are eventually able to get the share to   mount, but obviously, the stability of the mount is worrisome.

2. Files created in Office 2010 under Windows 7, which also decrypt and open fine using Netshare 10.2.5 under Windows 7 are reported as corrupt by Office 2010 (Word and Excel so far) under Windows 8 using the same version of Netshare 10.2.5. We are able to recover the file information within Word and Excel, but once we save the file, we cannot save to the encrypted folder on the file share nor locally without it being shown as corrupted on the next file open.

So, I have a few questions:

Are Windows 8 & Office 2010 even supported by Netshare 10.x?

Has anyone experienced similar issues? The BSOD has been domcumented to varying degrees by Symantec (that I've been able to find), but the documentation either states that "Symantec is considering options" or that there is no fix.

Has anyone experienced corruption issues w/ Office 2010? Have you found a work around/fix?

I'm asking here because we are looking at phasing out Netshare, but until we can do so (ASAP), we need to keep it running. Also, TPTB have decided that upgrading all secure/encrypted file users to Windows 8 is a necessary part of phasing out Netshare.

Thanks in Advance for any assistance.
